Healing with Your Heart and Hands

Don’t be afraid to hold someone’s hand when they are pouring their heart out to you.

Very often, people need that one-on-one touch to heal.

Healing may take not just months, but years — so don’t be surprised when someone you are close to harkens back to something that took place years earlier that you’d already forgotten.

Each of us is unique.

We each see life through a different lens.

What may seem innocuous to you may not be so for someone else.

So when someone you are close to begins to open up to you, listen with all that you are.

If they begin to get emotional, hold their hands, and keep listening.

Don’t try processing what you hear for a response, because that’s not what they need.

They just need you to hear what they have to say.

And when they’ve finished pouring their heart out to you, respond with pure, absolute love.

Love is life’s greatest healer and equalizer.

Don’t be afraid.

God gave us hearts and hands for a reason.

Now go, as we say in Judaism, and Repair the World with love.Image
