Social Media

Social media is a very odd, strange thing

Offering people opportunities to share very good and sometimes very, very bad things

People could use it to build a world filled with love

Yet so many are choosing instead to use it to shove

Anger, threats, lies and hate into the world making reality completely blurred.

It is sad that people are so irresponsible,

The thing is, the Web doesn’t make them invisible.

God sees everything they say and do.

Their hate and words don’t disappear into some unseeable human brew.

The honest truth is that it really does matter,

‘Cuz we are each responsible for our deeds and our chatter.

So, step up, my dear ones and use the Web with honest, caring banter,

For lies don’t just hurt others, you see,

They hurt all of humanity,

Causing injury to the very planet we live on,

By tearing apart the creations that God’s given.

So make 2016 the time to stand up for that which is right,

And stop others who are posting words that are purely dishonest lies;

Because God sees everything we say and do,

The Web doesn’t make us an invisible human brew.
