Neighborly Connections

Rhett's Belly‘Tis our neighbors with dogs whom we know best

We’re all out walking, for that is our dog’s quest

Now that seems great on sunny days

But when it’s snowing, our dogs get dismayed

Their paws get cold and filled with salt

Then we must walk home quick and wash them out

But that’s okay, ‘cuz we make neighborly ties

Tween persons and dogs, honey, that’s no lie

So if you wanna exercise in all sorts of weather

Adopt a dog, for (s)he’ll make you better

Better in spirit, better in strength, ‘cuz you’ll go to almost any length

To keep your dog happy, well-fed and healthy

‘Cuz with your dog and your neighbors, you’ll feel enormously wealthy

Blessed to have such a great exercise partner

‘Cuz no matter what, (s)he’ll help you saunter

Up the road through thick and thin

That’s what besties do when they go out for a spin

They meet friends here and friends there . . . friends basically everywhere

So change your life and make it better,

Adopt a dog-friend and walk in all weather

(S)He’ll help you make those neighborly connections

You didn’t think possible before you created that relation
