The Peaceful Coexistence Song

Faith Symbols Pride from The Connection St. John MCC

Do not hate me because I’m a Jew.

My path to God should not matter to you.

What matters is the person I am

Kind, loving, good-hearted, hard-working and true

That is the person I am, in addition to being a Jew

We’re taught to be honest, and not to judge others

Because God created us as sisters and brothers

So adopt that credo and let it fill your heart

Join with me on this day and get a new start

Loving all peoples regardless of their religious path

For that is God’s way — so get rid of that wrath

Fill your soul instead with kindness and love

Let the lovebirds sing in your heart from up above

Help rid the world of religious hate

Do this for your children, and make the world great

God has been waiting since He gave us the Golden Rule

I’m not kidding. Check Leviticus. Honest. It’s true.

God is patient, this we all know

But God has been waiting oh so long, so

Join with me in singing this peaceful coexistence song

Together we can come together as one

To save the Earth and all of her creatures

If we stop teaching hate and all its ugly features

For we are capable if we all come together

As one human family to save the world and make it better
